Sangre americana update

It's been a busy spell for the sangre americana contingent over the last few days. Let me catch you up on the goings-on of the American boys down in Mexico.

- Sammy Ochoa scored a goal for the U.S. Under-23 national in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Turkey in France. Ochoa had trouble in the first half before playing much better in the second half and scoring on a long-range shot. Ochoa is a long shot for the Olympics but this goal doesn't exactly hurt that cause.

- Michael Orozco was called into the U.S. national team for Wednesday's game in Wembley. It's an accomplishment to be called in, even if he doesn't play.

- Edgar Castillo played 70 minutes in Santos' 1-1 draw against Monterrey on Thursday. The match was the first leg of the semifinals.

- Marco Antonio Vidal played 90 minutes in Indios' 1-0 win over Leon on Thursday. The match was the first leg of the promotion series as Vidal and Indios are one step away from reaching the Mexican First Division.
