And then there were nine

Pachuca's bid for a double ended on Saturday as the two-time reigning CONCACAF champs fell to San Luis in Mexico's repechaje round of the postseason.

Pachuca actually beat San Luis 2-1 on Saturday but San Luis, on the strength of their 1-0 win on Wednesday, went through.

Due to injury, Michael Orozco did not play in either match for San Luis, though. Jose Francisco Torres played for Pachuca. He didn't start but Pachuca coach Enrique Meza realized early on that Torres' influence was necessary. Meza subbed out Jaime Correa in favor of Torres and the Texas native was active in the midfield.

San Luis will now play Toluca while Cruz Azul faces Jaguares in the Liguilla. Chivas, Santos and Monterrey will await Sunday's Atlas-Necaxa result to find out their respective fates.
