It's official

Nate Sturgis and Robbie Findley are gone to Real Salt Lake. Neither had a long history with the team, but still, the Galaxy squad that started off this year is looking less and less recognizable.

Yes, looking less and less like the team that started the year.

And that's a good thing.

Are Lalas and Mo in some sort of trading contest? I see a salary cap disaster on the horizon when there is no more allocation money to offset the contracts of Pavon, Xavier, and needing to trade for a DP slot for Donovan. LA fans better hope they win it all this year, because the House of Lalas is going to crumble next year.

Those are their 2 best young players. I thought Findley, in particular, looked very gifted.

Better make the playoffs this year or next.

Short term, this move is a decent-to-good trade for the Galaxy. Klein will give the Galaxy another experienced veteran to play in the midfield whereas Findley was already not playing much and with Pavon arriving, he was all but buried on the bench. Sturgis hurts but you have cover in the positions he plays. Plus, Ty Harden's doing fine on the right side so that minimizes his value as well.

Clearly, though, this trade gets more and more tilted in RSL's favor as time goes on because Findley is 21 and Sturgis is 20. Klein has gone through some major injuries in his time too but he's been pretty durable of late.
