Guevara's representative, Patrick McCabe, told me I was the seventh reporter he talked to - and he was working his way down a list of others that were leaving him messages. These are the days where agents really earn their commission - they deal with the press and they try to broker a workable deal for their clients.

To a certain extent I feel that Toronto sort of dropped the ball on this. They could have used Guevara as a bargaining chip to get De Rosario from Houston, but it seems like Toronto really wanted Guevara to play for them, which I find a bit bizarre because from what's been said before Mo Johnston had a somewhat turbulent relationship with Guevara in NY. Why would he want a trade to get a player he knows he'll have difficulty with?
Mo could have believed that the past with Guevara was water under the bridge. Some people let things go, and some don't.
Guevara is a hot potato. CUSA was smart to dump him, but dumb to trade a DP slot for him. Hindsight id 20/20.
I guess those that do not know their history are doomed to repeat:-)!
Question of the moment:
What is CUSA going to to do now? Guevara was brought in to supplement the offensive void left by the departure of Paco and "El Loquito."
Solutions? Andrea, Luis what do you guys think?
Everything is on hold to a certain degree until Chivas USA sees what they can get for Guevara. A sale to Honduras could mean an allocation for them. A trade with Dallas could bring in Ramon Nunez or Arturo Alvarez or perhaps a deal that combines something from Columbus could be in the works.
I heard the name Jesus Arellano yesterday. He's a 3-time World Cup veteran whose contract is out in June. He's a right-sided player and Chivas has a hole there. I don't know how much truth there is in that, though.
Nags is a good pick up but he's a defensive-minded player. Maybe Sacha Kljestan will be counted on for more offense.
