Gordo being the nickname for Alan Gordon, the Galaxy striker. At the Open Cup match versus Red Bull New York, a few reporters shared an elevator with Gordon down to the locker rooms after the game.
"Where've you been?" I asked him.
By way of answer, he stuck out his leg, which was encased in a soft cast, and explained he was still recovering from a foot fracture. But he seemed upbeat, saying that the cast was due to come off in about a week, at which point he could resume light training.
"I want to play so bad," Alan stated.
I said something to him about trying to establish himself as a target striker again, just before someone who can send in a pretty good cross shows up, and Alan nodded.
"I'll definitely be playing before he gets here," said Alan. "Definitely."
